Cracking the Texas A&M Supplemental Essays

This guide was built specifically for Texas A&M — based on years of coaching students through these exact prompts, including conversations with A&M admissions directly. Every section includes a video walkthrough that explains not just what to write, but why it works.

Important: This guide covers application prompts for Fall 2027 freshmen. Texas A&M has not yet confirmed its scholarship prompts for Fall 2027 freshmen. When those are released, I'll update the guide as soon as possible and I’ll send out revised guidance promptly. This guide does not cover brainstorming and writing the main 650- to 750-word Topic A essay (also called the personal statement) that goes to most of the schools you’re applying to.

This is specifically for the A&M supplemental and scholarship essays.

I'm a college admissions essay coach with more than 15 years' experience as a professional writer before pivoting to work directly with students. How long will this take?
Most students work through one prompt section in 1–2 hours. They can plan a weekend to get through everything at a solid pace — or spread it out over a few weeks. It's self-paced, so you can move as fast or slow as you need.

Does this cover the personal statement (Topic A)?
No — and here's why: The supplementals are specific to Aggie culture, and generic advice doesn't cut it. The supplementals are your chance to show A&M why you specifically belong there — and that's exactly what this guide is built to do. We already have a school counselor. Do we still need this?
School counselors are great — and they're also working with hundreds of students across dozens of universities and applications. This guide is built specifically for A&M's prompts, culture, and what admissions is actually looking for. It's not either/or.
