Worried that you won't be able to find a compelling topic that will help you stand out?
Wednesday, July 22, 2026 | 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Roasted (2300 Woodforest Parkway North, Montgomery, TX 77316)

You'll walk away with at least two possible essay topics and a clear direction for draft 1.
Even if you already have a topic in mind, attending this workshop will teach you ways to uplevel your topic and refine your draft.
Note: Space is limited to just 6 attendees for personalized feedback.
Before the workshop: I was terrified. I had no idea what to write about, where to start, what they were looking for.
Afterward: It was a great workshop, and it was incredibly helpful for me! I so appreciate the time and patience you have!

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU RIGHT NOW?
You're a rising high school senior who's applying to college this summer.
You know you need to start the essay ... you just don't know how.
You don't want essay-writing hanging over your head once school starts.
You don't want your parents nagging you about writing (and they don't want to nag).

Through guided exercises and real examples of what works (and what doesn't), students will:
Understand what the essay is actually doing in your application
Learn what to write about — and what to avoid
Identify their own writing voice
Get familiar with the Common App prompts
Generate 3–5 personalized topic directions
Know which one has the most potential, and why
Test-drive a few topics to see what actually develops into a
full essay
Leave with clear next steps for drafting
This isn't a replacement for full coaching — but it removes the
single biggest obstacle: not knowing what to write about.

You don't have to push or remind — your student leaves with direction, not just a to-do list.
Application stress drops before senior year even starts. Your
student feels ownership instead of pressure.

"I felt unmotivated and unprepared — and also stressed. I was hoping to get some motivation to start, and I now feel like I have some good ideas and even starts to essays!"
Your Questions, Answered
- Why $125, and not just watch free videos on this?Free content tells you what a good essay looks like. This
workshop gets you to an actual topic — in one sitting, with
feedback in real time, instead of weeks of staring at a blank
page alone. - What do you know about coaching admission essay writing?I've been a college admission essay coach since 2018. In addition to helping many students with their college essays (for both local and competitive schools nationwide), I'm also a college essay specialist for the College Essay Guy and have written several guides on Texas admissions.
I have also gone to the Texas A&M campus each summer since 2022 to give an essay-writing workshop to A&M applicants attending the Youth Adventure Program Camp. - What if I don't know where I'm applying yet? Will this workshop still help?Absolutely! You'll still (in all likelihood) need to write a 650-word personal statement for your applications. This workshop will help you generate ideas for that essay and for the supplements -- even if you're applying to different schools.
- I'm just a rising sophomore or junior. Should I come? This workshop is geared toward students who are applying to college this summer (rising seniors). It's a little early for you to be worried about the essay just yet. (But I'm glad you're thinking about it.)
You'd be welcome to attend, but just know that you still have a year or two of learning and growing to do, so your topic may evolve a lot between now and the time you apply. - Who would benefit the most from this workshop?Rising seniors who are looking to get started on their main essay/personal statement. They may have some ideas, or they may not know at all where to start. These students are also eager to get their essays drafted and done before their senior year starts.
- Is there a video version of this workshop? Not yet, but maybe in the future. Right now, this is only a live, in-person workshop.
- What kind of a student is this workshop NOT the right fit for? This won't be the right fit for a student who is:
- Unwilling to engage in the brainstorming process
- Already has a completed draft and just wants feedback
- Isn't willing to participate in discussion and share ideas
Before the workshop: I was terrified and so confused.
Afterward: I feel really good. a lot better and calmer. Thank you thank you thank you!
